Farmer determined to build a home for his ailing wife
The failing health of his wife makes Craig Morrison face the difficult choice of leaving the family farm they have lived on for decades or building a new suitable home on the property.
Morrison, played by James Cromwell, in the film Still, is a stubborn man determined to keep the farm going. His wife Irene, played by Geneviéve Bujold, is just as tough and determined. As a skilled carpenter Morrison decides he can build the home himself, but an obstacle is put in his way when Rick, a government inspector played by Jonathan Potts, makes it his mission to stop the house’s construction.
The film Still explores the deep relationship between the couple and Morrison’s need to prove he’s capable of providing for his family in their twilight years.
Still, directed by Michael McGowan, is part of TheatreOne’s Fringe Flicks series. It shows Sunday (Jan. 27) 1, 4 and 7 p.m. and Monday (Jan. 28) at 7 p.m. at Avalon Cinema. Tickets are $12 and are available by calling 250-754-7587 or go to www.theatreone.org.
