Residents at Glacier View Lodge and The Views at St. Joseph’s General Hospital were thrilled to receive a gift of music on Saturday, Dec. 22 from the Just in Time Choir.

In addition to sharing their own music, the group presented iPods and docking systems to music therapist Nicole Burgess.  The systems will be used to provide individualized play lists of music for residents.

Music connects us to different moments in our lives – the songs our parents sang to us, the music we danced to as teens, or the song that was playing during our first kiss.  Music is powerful in connecting us to our memories.  Our hope is that by providing the trigger of much loved music, we can stimulate memories of joyful moments in our residents lives.

Residents of both facilities would like to express thanks to Wendy  Nixon-Stothert and the Just in Time Choir, to  our music therapist Nicole and to the many entertainers who participated in the Nov. 23 Sing-a-thon and made this gift possible," a spokesperson said.
