Fashion Splash brings fashionistas to Ship Point

The first ever Fashion Splash, the centrepiece of the Ship Point Night Market’s 10th anniversary celebrations, focuses on style and healthy living by engaging local designers and retailers for a fashion-themed weekend of fun activities.

The event happens Aug. 22 to 24.

The high point of the weekend festivities is the live outdoor sunset fashion show, scheduled for 7:30 p.m,, Saturday, at the Ship Point pier.

The theme is West Coast Naturals featuring locally designed bathing suits, yoga wear, summer and fall fashions presented by the talented models from Coultish Management.

“We’re excited to provide a platform to showcase the talents of the movers and shakers in the local fashion industry,” said Curtis Grad, GVHA president and CEO.

“With the sun setting at the end of the pier, I can’t imagine a more beautiful venue than Ship Point to host a live outdoor fashion show.”

In addition to the weekend’s fashion focus, the night market will offer extended daytime hours on Saturday and Sunday and local musicians will provide live entertainment throughout the weekend. Yoga and fitness demonstrations will be available to engage the public.

“Victoria’s best kept secret is the wealth and variety of fashion, beauty and health products that are locally designed, made and sourced,” said event coordinator Joseph Gonyeau.

“We wanted to engage the local business and fashion industry in a fun weekend of themed activities. The response has been tremendous.”
