BAHA’I DINNER

The Baha’i community in Abbotsford hosts a free multi-faith dinner, devotional and discussion on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 6:30 p.m. The local is the Abbotsford Social Activity Centre (2631 Cyril St.).

LIBRARY STORYTIME

A pyjama storytime takes place at Clearbrook Library (32320 George Ferguson Way) on Tuesday, Aug. 19 from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Stories, songs, rhymes and more are included.

SKILLS CONNECT

The Skills Connect Program for immigrants holds a free information session on Tuesday, Aug. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at Abbotsford Community Services (2420 Montrose Ave.). The program helps participants with finding work in their field of expertise,  job-search techniques, courses and more. To register for the info session, call 604-866-1645.

SOCIAL SMART START

The Connect Now Network holds a Social Smart Start session on Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Abbotsford South constituency office, 33553 Marshall Rd. KNITTERS INVITED

PRAETORIAN RACE

The Praetorian Race takes place on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Abbotsford Exhibition Park, 32470 Haida Drive. The event is a non-profit obstacle course to raise funds for Wounded Warriors Canada and Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. The course is open to people of all physical abilities. SPCA FUNDRAISER

EXERCISE FOR SENIORS

Exercise classes for seniors resume at the Abbotsford Social Activity Centre (2631 Cyril St.) starting Thursday, Sept. 4. Classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Cost is $1.50 for members and $2.50 for non-members. Blood pressure readings are available. ALATEEN MEETS

Alateen, a part of Al-Anon Family Groups, is for young people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking,  whether it’s a parent, sibling or friend.
