Local Safeway among locations raising funds for MD

The Safeway store on South Fraser Way in Abbotsford is among locations across Canada raising funds this month for Muscular Dystrophy Canada (MDC).

Customers are invited to donate $2 to the campaign, running from July 31 to Aug. 15, and receive five Air Miles Reward Miles in exchange.

Last year, the Abbotsford Safeway raised almost $6,400 and just over $994,000 was raised across Western Canada through the “Make Muscles Move” campaign.

Funds raised support the Safeway Mobility Grant program, post-secondary scholarships for young adults, and research.
