First Nations art sale planned on Aug. 16

A special event featuring artwork by First Nations artisans will take place on Saturday,  Aug. 16 in Walnut Grove.

Lower Fraser Valley Aboriginal Society is presenting the art sale as part of a larger garage sale event at North Langley Community Church, 21015 96 Avenue, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

First Nations artists who are interested in taking part can rent a table for $10. More information about the table rental is available by calling 604-812-2524 or by emailing lfvasociety@fastmail.fm.

Barb Carlson, an elder with the society, says there will be a wide variety of unique native artwork available for sale at the event, and it will be of interest to people who enjoy such unique artwork.

Bannock will also be available for sale, and at a concession at the event.

Funds raised through the event go towards the Little Feathers program, one of several supported by the society to assist aboriginal families in Langley and the Lower Fraser Valley.
