Wildflowers in the mountains

A wildflower expert from the United Kingdom is spreading the alpine word in Qualicum Beach on Monday.

The Alpine Gardeners of Central Vancouver Island are presenting Cliff Booker at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre July 28 from 1 to 3 p.m.

The presentation is called Definitive Dolomites and it features over 900 images of the amazing flora, unique wildlife and incredible scenery of these magnificent Italian mountains.

Based on Booker’s twelve years of leading wildflower walks for UK travel company Collett’s Mountain Holidays, the lecture encompasses an astonishing array of alpine species.

Booker has presented his digital ‘tour de forces’ around the world. Entry is $5 and includes a plant prize draw, coffee and tea.
