TOUCH A TRUCK
The fourth annual Touch a Truck event takes place Sunday, July 20 at Abbotsford Centre (33800 King Rd.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vehicles and interactive displays will be on site from Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service, Jack’s Towing, Eagle West Cranes, Abbotsford Forestry and many more. Second Storey Theatre visits the Clearbrook Library (32320 George Ferguson Way) on Tuesday, July 22 at 11 a.m. and the Abbotsford Community Library (33355 Bevan Ave.) on Monday, July 28 at 1 p.m. The audience helps the cast create a one-of-a-kind adventure that is inspired by their suggestions. The program is suitable for kids ages six and older.
The Skills Connect Program for immigrants holds a free information session on Tuesday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at Abbotsford Community Services (2420 Montrose Ave.). TEA TIME IN STRAITON
The community of Straiton hosts a Heritage Tea on Saturday, July 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Straiton Community Hall, 4698 Sumas Mountain Rd. Alateen, a part of Al-Anon Family Groups, is for young people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking, whether it’s a parent, sibling or friend. The Mood Disorders Association support group in Abbotsford meets the first and third Thursdays of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. at Abbotsford Community Services (2420 Montrose Ave.) It is open to those who have mood disorders such as depression, manic depression, anxiety and panic attacks.
