Free barbecue at UFV supports women and kids

A free barbecue fundraiser is taking place July 12 at the UFV Green Space between noon and 4 p.m.

The event will collect donations to help women and children in crisis via the Ann Davis Transition Society, Xolhemet Society and Women’s Resource Society of the Fraser Valley.

A magic show will happen at 2 p.m., and there will also be kids’ games and someone crafting balloon animals.

Organizers are also accepting donations of new clothing, household goods, toys and educational items. Gift certificates and cash donations will also be accepted.

The UFV Green Space is at 33844 King Rd., and parking is available at Envision Centre.
