Healthy Living Experts Forum coming up

The House of Now in Courtenay is hosting Healthy Living Experts Forum, a live forum where the  community meets our leading community health experts.

The forum will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:40 p.m., Sunday, July 20 at 536 Fifth Street in Courtenay.

Topics are 20 minutes in length and can be delivered as a lecture, demonstration or participatory training. Each month, a new roster of experts represents a variety of topics ranging from individual to societal health.

The "Comox Valley has an abundant resource of highly skilled professionals that devote their lives to the wellness of our community," says Arrow Gonsalves, owner of The House of Now. "The Experts Forum is an opportunity to discover who they are, and have the unique opportunity to learn from them and understand the benefits of what they are offering."

The lectures and trainings can be simple or complex, serious or fun, and joyous — there is place for everything, creating balance and optimizing the learning experience.

"People are drawn to attend by one speaker and invariably discover they are fascinated with them all," adds Gonsalves. "The interaction between experts and participants has been warm and engaging with that festive tone which is characteristic of the Valley."

By embracing the principle that the health of society begins with the self, the forum strengthens and encourages Comox Valley residents in their individual process of health and ultimately their level of societal awareness so that a greater vibrancy of community may also take place.

July's experts are:

· Kannara Daniel: Kingfisher Resort, Revealing Oneself

· Yarrow Wllard: Harmonic Botanicals, The Hidden Language of the Natural World

· Jack Minard: Tsolum River Restoration Society, CV Land Trust, The Link Between Natural Systems and Human Health

· Connie Karomuto: Gardens on the Go – Organic Horticulture, Start your Organic Garden Today

· Arrow Gonsalves: Heart Drum Beat, How to Empower your Immune System and Innate Knowing

This is a great opportunity for the community to meet and learn from our experts, and for our experts to contribute their knowledge and skills to the greater community.
The event is sponsored by Heart Drum Beat - Taoist Yoga & Healing Services.

There will be a snack break mid-way through the forum, as well as a short time to mingle after.
Entry costs $7 advance or $9 at the door. Space is limited, so pre-registration is encouraged.
