Friday Deadline for Trail garden contest

The Trail Garden Contest is in full bloom as the deadline for entry closes on Friday. The annual backyard garden competition has been running for 14 years and this year features over $5,000 in cash prizes to be handed out in 14 categories. Everyone is welcome to attend the awards event July 16, 6:30 p.m. at the Colombo Piazza. Maps for a July 19 garden tour are available by donation at Ferraro Foods in downtown Trail July 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Raymond and Buena (pictured) Hughes took home the ‘Most Whimsical’ garden award last year for their beautifully adorned Glenmerry garden. - Sheri Regnier
