Special Olympics torch comes through Surrey
The 2014 Law Enforcement Torch Run came through Surrey Monday morning (July 7) to help raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics B.C. athletes.
Fourteen runners and one athlete ran the final, 2.6 kilometre leg of the the relay, going from Surrey City Hall in City Centre to the RCMP E-Division headquarters in Green Timbers Park.
About 400 runners in 15 communities have carried the torch on their way to the official opening of the 2014 Canada Special Olympics being held July 8-12 at the University of British Columbia.
