New West celebrates Canada Day with a bang

New Westminster threw not one party but two to celebrate Canada's 147th birthday on Tuesday.

The party started at Queen's Park with live music and entertainment, free maple cookies and greetings from various city dignitaries.

In the evening the festivities moved to the waterfront where there was demonstrations by acrobats from the Vancouver Circus School, live entertainment and a climactic fireworks display high over the Fraser River.
