COUNCIL NEWS: North Saanich

• Councillor Craig Mearns asked district staff to report on complaints about their interaction with the public. He made the request following a presentation by Tigue Clark, who outlined his frustration in trying to get a building permit.

 

• Councillor Celia Stock is asking council at their next meeting to debate the merits of creating a resolution that will ask the province to create a specific ministry of municipal affairs. Stock said the current provincial portfolio is a “Ministry of Odds and Sods.”

 

• North Saanich’s 2014 asphalt paving contract was awarded to Island Asphalt for $433,777.31.  Paving projects this year are on Lochside Drive from Cy Hampson Park to McTavish Road, Wain Road from Tatlow Road to 1340 Wain and along Mills Road.
