AFG raises $18,000 for BC Children’s Hospital

Aldergrove Financial Group staff and members raised almost $18,000 to support BC Children’s Hospital through their annual fundraising campaign.

“We were honoured to be a part of the annual BC Children’s Hospital Foundation Miracle Weekend on May 31 and June 1 to help make a difference in the lives of seriously ill children and their families,” says Val Mackey, Aldergrove Credit Union Vice President, Human Resources, and BC Children’s Hospital Foundation Chair of the Credit Union, Insurance and Financial Services Committee.

“We are proud of the dedication and hard work of our staff in their fundraising efforts and our members for supporting us.”

Fundraising took place through in-branch activities around the Fraser Valley and through the 24th annual BC Children’s Hospital Slo-Pitch Tournament, which brought together five participating B.C. credit unions. The Aldergrove Financial Group Team came first in their division.

BC Children’s Hospital uses donations to purchase life-saving equipment; research the treatment, prevention and cure of childhood diseases; recruit and provide educational programs for caregivers; and provide programs in communities throughout the province.
