‘A Day to Heel’
'A Day to Heel' will be held Sunday, June 22 in the City of Langley.
This occasion will serve three purposes: first and foremost to honour the six dogs which tragically perished on May 13, 2014; secondly to express thanks from the dogs’ families to the Pet Searchers organization and the many individuals in the community who went to great lengths to try and locate the missing dogs; and to provide awareness and education on the ways we can help keep our pet companions safe.
Kevin Woronchak, owner of Until We Meet Again Pet Memorial Center, says, “Dr. Alan Wolfelt coined the term companioning, in part, it means to walk alongside someone who is grieving. A Day to Heel is a beautiful opportunity for all of us to do just that for the families who have lost their beloved companions. The human animal bond is a powerful thing and I believe that it is our deep understanding of this bond that has brought us together after this tragic event."
Animal lovers and those who would like to show the families their support, are invited to attend A Day to Heel, Sunday, June 22 at 2 p.m. in Spirit Square at Douglas Park, 20933 Douglas Crescent (at 204th Street), City of Langley.
