Selkirk College international students are inviting the community to immerse themselves in ethnic Indian dance.

On Thursday, June 19, Indian summer semester students are hosting “Rising Stars” in the gym at the Castlegar Campus. The Indian dance competition will feature “Bhangra,” “Giddha “and “Street Dance” in the crazy world of Indian dancing.

After the competition, participants will be providing lessons to those in attendance who want to get a better feel for Indian dance.

The event goes from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5 and free for Selkirk College students. Indian snacks and refreshments (vegetable pakoras and chai tea) will be served.
