WINE AND BEER FEST

The Abbotsford-Matsqui Rotary Club hosts its 20th annual Wine and Beer  Festival and Silent Auction on Saturday, May 24 at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre, starting at 7 p.m. The event includes live jazz and blues music, wine and beer tasting, appetizers, a silent auction and door prizes, with proceeds going to Rotary service projects. Tickets are $30 (not available at the door) from customer service in the mall, Abbey Eye Doctors and Sumas Mountain Wines.

 

KING FUN FAIR

King Traditional Elementary (28776 King Rd.) holds a Fun Fair on Saturday, May 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be games, entertainment, food and a marketplace with fresh vegetables, hanging baskets, baked goods and books. The event also includes the Ford Drive One 4 UR School fundraiser.

 

RETIRED WORKERs

The Fraser Valley branch of the B.C. Government Retired Employees Association meets Monday, May 26 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at MSA Museum, 2313 Ware St. Guest speaker will be Dan Trayler from Homestead Nurseryland.

 

PROBUs meets

The PROBUS Club of Abbotsford meets May 26 at the Best Western Regency Inn and Conference Centre (32110 Marshall Rd.) This month’s speaker is George Millett. Call Bob at 604-850-3925 for information.

 

GARDEN CLUB

WRITERS’ GROUP

HOMINUM

ALATEEN MEETS

Alateen, a part of Al-Anon Family Groups, is for young people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking, whether it’s a parent, sibling or friend. MOOD DISORDERS

The Mood Disorders Association support group in Abbotsford meets the first and third Thursdays of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. at Abbotsford Community Services (2420 Montrose Ave.) It is open to those who have mood disorders such as depression, manic depression, anxiety and panic attacks. TOPS IN WEIGHT LOSS
