Local artist Janice Barnes is showcasing a selection of her acrylic paintings at the Community Arts Council of the Saanich Peninsula Gallery in Tulista Park this month.

From May 20 to 24, Barnes’ work will hang at the local gallery and soon after, the show will move to Art and Soul Gallery in Saanichton from June 10 to 21.

The show will include about 15 recent paintings that reflect the Peninsula as well as a few of Barnes’ older paintings on loan from owners.

Barnes, who lives in Sidney, is 83-years-old and still paints daily.
