Help Glen elementary celebrate its 100th anniversary

Former students, parents, teachers and other community members are invited to help Glen elementary school celebrate its 100th birthday later this month — but they need to sign up soon.

The event, which will run from 5 to 9 p.m. on May 30, will include a welcome ceremony, featuring members of the Fox family and local politicians, school tours of rooms with photos and memorabilia from each decade, and a Terry Fox room, a classic car show, a movie of the school's history from 1913/’14, and the opening of a 14-year old time capsule from Luciano Stella's Grade 4/5 class. There will also be a Kinsmen barbecue and refreshments.

Tickets cost $20 and a registration form is available at www.sd43.bc.ca/glen. For more information, phone 604-464-6608 or email glenreunion2014@hotmail.com. Registration is requested by Wednesday, Mayy 14.
