Burnaby Farmers Market returns May 3

The Burnaby Farmers Market is set to return to the city hall parking lot on Saturday.

On Monday, council was expected to approve an agreement to allow Artisan Farmers' Market Society to operate out of the north parking lot from May 3 to Oct. 25.

It will be open Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's estimated 600 to 800 people visit the market each Saturday during the summer, said a city staff report.

The society has operated the market in Burnaby since 2008.

On May 31, the market will coincide with the Burnaby Environment Festival which will be held nearby at city hall's outer courtyards and walkways beside the bus loop.
