A little bit of Dr. Who landed in Sidney this week.

A full-size replica TARDIS — a time machine from the popular British sci-fi television show Dr. Who — was unveiled at Holy Cow Communication Design on Tuesday.

“We’ve been watching the film crews shuttle around David Tennant during the production of Gracepoint,” explained Ken Coward from Holy Cow.

“Because Tennant was the tenth Doctor on the show and he’s here in Sidney now we had the idea to construct the TARDIS in hopes that he may come up and see us,” he laughed.

The booth, which is located on the balcony of Holy Cow in the Cannery Building at the end of Beacon Avenue, was crafted from scratch by Coward himself. It will remain on display at Holy Cow until May 9 and people can take photos of themselves with it for a donation.

“Because David Tennant is a doctor on the show and because we work with so many great doctors though the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation which is a client of ours, we thought it would be a good way to raise funds for the Foundation,” said Coward.

“It’s a great way to have fun and engage the community in a worthwhile cause,” he added.

Holy Cow Communication Design is located at 301-2537 Beacon Ave. in Sidney. For more information visit facebook.com/holycowvictoria.
