Family website launched

Langley Early Child Development Committee and Langley Middle Childhood Matters Committee have launched the website.

On March 10, Langley parents gained a new resource to support families with children from infancy to age 12, in the form of the new Langley Children website.

"Parents want to know what is available to them and their children in the community," said Bernice Way, Program Coordinator for Children and Families 0-6 at Aldergrove Neighbourhood Services. "Until now that wasn't readily available or the information was either scattered, or buried in directories for all ages."

The website provides parents with a directory of local Langley services, as well as a calendar of events for parents or children that are occurring across Langley. Finally, the website provides a series of links to helpful resources for parents with very young, or school-aged children.

"We hope that families will find this website helpful and will spread the word about this resource to their friends and neighbours. We want to become the go-too place for families looking for resources, supports or activities in Langley," said Karen Abrahamson, Coordinator of the Early Childhood Development Committee which partnered with the Langley Middle Childhood Matters Committee to launch the website.

"Our goal is to help parents and children become better connected to the opportunities in Langley."
