Meeting on housing co-ops on March 20

The Co-operative Housing Federation of BC (CHF BC) is holding a meeting on Thursday, March 20 at 7 p.m. to update co-op residents on the campaign to keep vulnerable British Columbians from losing their housing.

Hundreds of low-income Burnaby co-op members like seniors, people with disabilities and single parents depend on rent subsidies from the federal government. That funding is set to end soon.

Thom Armstrong and the campaign team will discuss the rental assistance program CHF BC wants the provincial government to implement.

The campaign is dubbed, “You hold the key: fix the co-op housing crunch!” The event will be held in the common room of the Halston Hills Co-op, 8868 Horne Street, Burnaby.

RSVP at 604- 879-5111 ext. 150 or dhauka@chf.bc.ca.
