Kootenay Literary Competition winners announced

The Kootenay Literary Competition announced its winners at a gala event Friday night in Nelson.

Two winners were selected in each of the five categories as follows:

 

Fiction

Eli Geddis, Nelson

Roz Nay, Nelson

 

Creative Non-Fiction

Leslie Davidson, Grand Forks

Graham Kenyon, Rossland

 

Poetry

Jordan Mounteer, Winlaw

Cheryl Thornton, Salmo

 

Youth Grades 7-9

Hannah Klemmensen, Rossland

Zoey Lowe, Golden

 

Youth Grades 10-12

James Havelock Tucker, Nelson

Emily Hoff, Ymir

 

All of the prize winning stories are printed in the Kootenay Literary Competition 2013 Anthology, called Refuge, available at Otter Books in Nelson.
