Panthers tie up series against Glacier Kings
The Peninsula Panthers kicked things into high gear earlier this week, winning the fourth game in the playoff series against the Comox Valley Glacier Kings Monday night to tie the battle 2-2.
After dropping a pair of games last weekend, the Panthers found themselves falling behind in the best-of-seven series against the Glacier Kings.
The locals were downed 3-0 last Friday night at home and again 4-0 in Comox Saturday night but managed to pull through in Monday night's game at Panorama with a 4-2 win.
"There were times this season when we were scoring at will," said Panthers’ Head Coach Brian Passmore.
"But now we have our hands full with a speedy and talented Comox club and our guys have to play with more desperation if we want to get back in this series and come out on top. None of our guys are hanging their heads and I expect that this week we will be playing some great hockey in what I hope is a playoff atmosphere at home."
The Panthers play tonight (Wednesday) in Comox and are at home Friday night at Panorama Recreation Centre.
"Our guys have played a physical game at times during this series but nothing short of an all-out effort is needed this week," said Passmore.
