The manager of the Abbotsford Farm and Country Market has been named the Market Manager of the Year by the B.C. Association of Farmers' Markets (BCAFM).

Bruce Fatkin was among 10 nominees for the award's inaugural year.

The nominations were judged by a committee representing BCAFM partners and stakeholders across B.C.

Fatkin was born and raised in Abbotsford, and has a small-business ownership background in agriculture, project management and start-up consulting.

He is in his 10th year of managing the Abbotsford Farm and Country Market, and for one year also managed the Langley Community Farmers Market.

Fatkin also sits on the board of directors for organizations including BCAFM.

The Abbotsford Farm and Country Market runs March 22, April 5 and 19, and then weekly.
