Bulgarian Festival March 8

The local Bulgarian community is celebrating Saturday, March 8 from 1 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Archangel Michael’s Church in Burnaby, 7837 Canada Way.

Hosted with funding support from Festivals Burnaby, the event will mark Bulgaria's national holiday.

Everyone is welcome to the festival, which features traditional Bulgarian crafts, costumes and dances. Authentic Bulgarian food, wines and live entertainment will also be available.

“We are excited to host a cultural event that will give us the opportunity to introduce Bulgaria, our traditions, and the beauty and uniqueness of Bulgarian ethnic arts and cuisine to a multicultural audience”, says Vania Alexieva, president of the Bulgarian Heritage Language School and Folklore Society, the event's host.
