Skiing for hope — Cancer fundraiser at Nelson’s Whitewater

Can you ski the height of Mt. Everest?

It may seem an insurmountable goal but a fundraiser at Whitewater Ski Resort today has people aiming high in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Slopes For Hope is an "Everest-style" ski-a-thon where individuals and teams attempt to ski the vertical of Mt. Everest in one day.

Early Saturday morning, those up to the challenge and eager to help fund cancer research, were up at the ski hill registering. Some even dressed in costumes.
