SPOTLIGHT: New gig for Robinson

NEW GIG

The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce plans to have a bigger voice at business conventions with the hiring of its first policy advisor. Aaron Robinson started his job this week and expects to be working closely with the Chamber’s public policy committee on issues important to the Tri-Cities’ business community.

“Local policies are where you can affect the most change,” said Robinson, who will kick off his new job by working with the Chamber to develop policies in advance of the BC Chamber AGM in May.

His new post is effectively a return to his hometown. He moved to Ontario in 2007 to pursue a post-secondary education, attending the University of Western Ontario where he graduated with a bachelor of arts with honors, specializing in international relations.

DELICIOUS!

A Coquitlam resident is whipping up a dessert for a new CBC-TV cooking show that launches next week.

Jesse Meredith will appear in the first episode of Recipe to Riches, a reality culinary show that airs next Wednesday at 9 p.m.

The aspiring actor is up against Erica Pauze, a 19-year-old who dreams of owning a bakery and Brad Reinsch, a bobsledder from Calgary.

The winning dessert will be turned into a President’s Choice product at select Loblaw banner stores across the country.
