The staff at the Nelson Star want to remind everyone to wear pink on Wednesday.

Wearing pink shows support for Pink Shirt Day (February 26).

The annual event raises awareness of the problem of bullying at school, the workplace and everywhere else.

The tradition began several years ago when two Nova Scotia high school students organized a protest to wear pink in sympathy with a Grade 9 boy who was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt.

That act of support has become a national tradition.
