Vernon Women in Business is once again seeking nominations for the 2014 Woman of the Year.

This award honours women in the community who display leadership in business, volunteerism and the community.

“For the last 27 years, Women in Business has been proud to present this award to deserving women and are looking to the community to put forward nominations,” said Colleen Barker, event chairperson.

Nominations will be accepted until March 21 and nomination forms are at http://vwib.com.

The award will be presented during a gala event at the Prestige Hotel May 8.

“This event is a one of a kind opportunity to celebrate the impact women have on our business and greater community,” said Barker.

Along with being honoured with the title, the 2014 Woman of the Year recipient will receive a pearl necklace set donated by Sweet Smiles Society founder Barrita Durward.

Other event sponsors include Red Door Photographic, Community Futures, Nor-Val Rentals and the Prestige Hotel.
