SIDNEY — Mountain Dream Productions and the Mary Winspear Centre are presenting their resident musical theatre class in the production of  Hilarious Hillbillies this weekend.

The show will highlight the talent, humour and achievements of the students from the Triple Threat Musical Theatre class who have been polishing their skills since September.

The students will sing, act and dance under the artistic direction of Margaret Watt, who has been directing the classes under Mountain Dream Productions at the Centre for five years.

Running twice a year (fall and spring), the Triple Threat Musical Theatre classes meet once a week and teach youth ages seven to 17 the skills they need to present a full theatrical production.

Through the avenue of creative expression and drama, students build their confidence, talent and friendships while producing the show.

Hilarious Hillbillies runs this weekend for two shows on Friday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Jan 25 at 2 p.m.

For tickets and registration information visit the Mary Winspear box office, call 250-656-0275 or visit www.marywinspear.ca.

Students will travel back in time when spring classes begin on Feb. 11 with a new production titled Let’s go to the Hop.
