The Colonels Hockey Team invited the Abreast in the Rockies Dragon Boat Team to assist them with a New Year’s Eve fundraiser and chose the dragon boat team to receive the profits from the event.  The party was held at the Colombo Lodge and attendees enjoyed a live band, favours, champagne supplied by the Colonels and a midnight snack supplied by the dragon boat team.  After expenses Abreast in the Rockies realized approximately $4,000 and would like to thank the Colonels Hockey Team for their generous donation.

The Abreast in the Rockies Team uses funds to promote breast cancer awareness, support breast cancer projects and to demonstrate the benefits of physical activity for breast cancer survivors.  The paddlers welcome all breast cancer survivors to become a part of the team and enjoy the camaraderie and benefits of paddling.
