Farmers' Market returns

As the first seeds go into the greenhouses and our routines settle in after the holidays, the Comox Valley Farmers' Market returns this Saturday to the Native Son’s Hall in downtown Courtenay.

Here in the Valley we are lucky enough to have a variety of farmers able to support a year-round farmers' market with their locally grown product.

At this time of year you’ll find local farmers and fishers bringing grass fed beef, lamb and bison, free range poultry and sustainably harvested fish and seafood as well as the freshest eggs and local cheese, yogurt and gelato.

Our veggie growers will still bring a variety of squash, garlic, dried beans, turnips, celeriac, kale, shallot, frozen berries, and sprouts.

The market’s food fests will continue through the winter, celebrating our local dairy producers Jan. 25.
