Above, Tara Lyon (left), Cultus Lake elementary school teacher, points out a spot for an ornament as her class takes turns decorating their Christmas tree at the Coast Hotel on Wednesday as part of the hotel's third annual Festival of Trees.

The Grade 3 and 4 students made all of their decorations — snowflakes, trees, sleds, santas, reindeer, and penguins — out of popsicle sticks.

The hotel lobby will be adorned with several Christmas trees donated by Highland L. Tree Farm and decorated by local schools.

The event is open to the public for viewing and voting throughout the holiday season and people are asked to bring a non-perishable donation for the Salvation Army food bank when they visit the hotel.
