Gain and loss for Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation
A long-standing supporter of Ridge Meadows Hospital passed away after his group made a $23,000 donation to help the maternity ward.
George Ferguson of the Loyal Protestant Association died just hours after making the donation to help purchase infant warmers.
“He has been such a long-standing supporter of the hospital and we were shocked to hear of his death,” said Laura Cherrille, executive director of the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation.
His group’s donation will help the hospital cope with the rising number of births in the community.
“Upon birth, a newborn must undergo extensive examinations and tests. In order to provide the ideal environment for newborns and health care workers, we are equipping Ridge Meadows Hospital with state-of-the-art infant warmers,” Cherrille added.
Each one costs more than $20,000.
The donation from the Loyal Protestant Association will purchase one warmer help with that of another.
“With this equipment, the newest members of our community are provided with optimal care and comfort as they enter the world.”
