Ride Village carousel Dec. 14, help Burnaby Christmas Bureau

Ride the carousel at Burnaby Village Museum on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 4 to 9 p.m. and support local families at Christmas.

The annual Ride for the Bureau event will see proceeds from all carousel tickets sold during that time donated to the Burnaby Christmas Bureau.

“Last year, with the support of our generous donors, the Burnaby Christmas Bureau was able to help 3,988 people, including 2,247 children and 75 seniors," said Stephen D’Souza, executive director for Burnaby Community Services, the charity that coordinates the Christmas Bureau. "This year, we are certain that the demand will increase. We are also very hopeful that we will be able to meet this growing need.”

The event coincides with the start of later hours for Illuminations at Heritage Christmas at the museum, which will be open 12 to 9 p.m. daily until Jan. 3 (closed Dec. 24 and 25). Gate admission is free and carousel rides are $2.21 each.

Burnaby Village Museum is at 6501 Deer Lake Ave., Burnaby. Info: 604-297-4565 or burnabyvillagemuseum.ca.
