ARTISAN GIFT FAIR
The MSA Museum Society, in partnership with the Abbotsford Arts Council, holds the annual Christmas Artisan Gift Fair on Saturday, Dec. 7 from noon to 4 p.m. at Kariton Art Gallery (2387 Ware St.) and Trethewey House Heritage Site (2313 Ware St.). Emmanuel Free Reformed Church (3386 Mt. Lehman Rd.) holds Advent Vespers with the Abendmusik Choir on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. Donations go to Menno Simons Centre.
AT THE LEGION
The ladies auxiliary to the Abbotsford branch of the Royal Canadian Legion (2513 West Railway) holds a fish and chips night on Friday, Dec. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. A shuttle is available to the legion from MSA Ford by phoning 604-746-9151. Also at the legion, a Christmas bake sale takes place on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
LIGHTS WALKING TOUR
Creekside Cats (4290 Wright St.) in Clayburn Village hosts a Christmas lights walking tour on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. Park at Clayburn School or across from Clayburn Store. Hot chocolate, coffee and donuts will be served. Donations accepted for Clayburn Village Heritage Society.
The annual community Christmas party will be held at Straiton Hall (4698 Sumas Mtn. Rd.) on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. Bring a snack or baking to share. Donations will be accepted for the Abbotsford Food Bank, and pictures with Santa will be available by email. Crafts for the kids will also be offered. The event is free to members, with a small charge for craft supplies for non-members.
Heritage Alliance Church (3440 Mt. Lehman Rd.) hosts a special evening on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m., when the lights on the church and the surrounding gardens will be turned on. There will be a live manger scene, and Sir Lance, the camel, will make his debut. Hot chocolate, goodies and a Christmas carol sing-along are also included.
SWING IS THE THING
Suburban Swing hosts Johnny Boyd and his Sensational Swing Lover Band on Sunday, Dec. 8 at the Abbotsford Social Activity Association hall, 33889 Essendene Ave. This is part of the regular Sunday Night Swing sessions. Drop-in lessons start at 7:45 p.m., with dancing from 8:30 to 11 p.m. Tickets for Johnny Boyd are $5 online at suburbanswing.com or $20 at the door.

The Business and Professional Women’s Club of Abbotsford-Mission holds its annual Christmas social on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at Sweet Dreams Luxury Inn, 32288 King Rd. BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
A Christmas breakfast takes place Saturday, Dec. 14 at Trethewey House (2313 Ware St.) for either a 10:30 or 11:30 a.m. sitting. Enjoy a pancake breakfast followed by caroling, crafts and a special visit from the jolly old man himself. There will be Christmas crafts, cookie decorating and a picture with Santa.
