A group of last year’s grade 12 students known as the Global Voices Group from DW Poppy, generously donated $300, as well as some much-needed toiletry items, to Aldergrove Neighbourhood Services.

Darien Johnson of Global Voices requested a presentation from youth outreach workers at ANS at the school to talk about the issues surrounding youth homelessness.

The funds were used towards the purchase of necessities to support youth accessing the program. This includes groceries, transit fares and clothing items. The group fundraised within the school for this worthy cause.

Aldergrove Neighbourhood Services, a community-based non-profit organization serving children, youth and families in Aldergrove and Langley, is honoured to receive this donation and commends the students for their hard work and support of this initiative. It is only through the support of generous community contributions such as this that they may continue to meet the ever-growing needs of children, youth and families.

With the winter season rapidly approaching, ANS would greatly appreciate donations from community to support the many services they provide. For more information on how to help, please contact 604-534-2171.
