Subway restaurants raising funds for typhoon relief

Subway restaurants in the North Okanagan are fundraising for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

On Thursday, $1 from every foot-long and 50 cents from every six-inch Subway sandwich  will be donated to the Typhoon Haiyan relief fund.

The participating stores include Winfield, Vernon, Armstrong and Enderby.

“Knowing so many people are still living in dreadful conditions all over the island nation of the Philippines is a true tragedy,” said Gurjit Jhajj, owner of 10 Subway restaurants in the region.

“We hope our customers will join us on Thursday to help us send aid to the survivors of this horrific disaster.”
