Santa arrives in northwestern BC

THE Christmas season in Terrace and area officially began this past weekend with an appearance by Santa and several craft shows.

Santa arrived on schedule via Canadian Helicopters, landing at the Canadian Tire parking lot on Sunday afternoon Dec. 1 to a waiting crowd of youngsters.

The weekend also featured the annual craft and bake sale of the Mills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary at Mills Memorial Hospital and the Skeena Valley Farmers Market Christmas crafts show at the Sportsplex.

Coming up Dec. 6 and Dec. 7 is the Terrace Art Gallery's Christmas Arts and Crafts Showcase in the gallery located on the lower level of the Terrace Public Library. It opens Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. and Dec. 7 at 10 a.m.

And on Dec. 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., there's music, a hayride, refreshments and more in George LIttle Park when the Festival of Lights takes place.

Also on Dec. 7 Knox United Church holds its Christmas Tea and Bazaar from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the church.
