Restaurant helps raise roofs for Habitat for Humanity
The staff and management of the Black Rooster Classic Bar and Grill in Castlegar are pleased to have been able to raise a total of $1180 for Habitat for Humanity this year, which includes proceeds from a golf tournament and $2 from all t-shirt sales throughout the year.
The Black Rooster, with the support of many sponsors, held its annual mixed golf tourney, otherwise known as “The Divorce Open”, from August 3 to 4. Ken and Sophia Park took low gross honours in a playoff over Bob and Maureen Elliott.
Past charitable recipients have been Hospice and the West Kootenay Toy Run.
The golf tournament had two hole-in-one sponsors: the Fireside Inn Hotel & Conference Centre in Castlegar and Halls Printing in Trail. Over 40 businesses throughout the Kootenays supported the event with other prizes.
"The Rooster thanks everyone for their generous support of this annual event and is looking forward to supporting Cops for Kids in the upcoming year," said Michelle Hansen, manager.
