Worth a long hard look in Castlegar
The Kootenay Gallery has opened a show of impressive stature, timed to coincide with and celebrate the Craft Council of British Columbia's 40th Anniversary.
"Invested: 10,000 Hours" is the title of the exhibition guest-curated by Helen Sibelius, and it relates to an accepted formula for developing one's talent, paying one's dues and therefore achieving success.
Variety is key, as outstanding creations representing Mixed Media; Clay; Wood; Glass; Jewelry and Metal are featured, as provided by highly skilled Columbia Basin artists: Wendy Allen; Kalika Bowlby; Clark Dennill; Katharine Dickerson; Julie Gibb; Deborah Loxam-Kohl; Lou Lynn; Lesley Mayfield; Ridgeline Metal Works - James Karthein and Kevin Kratz; Daniel Rondeau; and Cameron Stewart.
This is another special exhibition, and will run until Saturday, November 9. Check it out at Castlegar's Kootenay Gallery, 120 Heritage Way, tucked away at the end of the road across the highway from the West Kootenay Regional Airport.
