Trail Kidney Walk draws support
Approximately 60 supporters came to Gyro Park on Sunday for the Kidney Walk in Trail. The association has raised $19,500, through sponsorship, the walk and online donations, and is almost at its goal of $20,000. Donations can still be made online at www.kidney.ca/bcwalk and scroll to Interior B.C. and click on Trail walk. Below: Pancreas and kidney transplant survivor Karen Fontaine made the walk with supporters Charlie Fontaine and canine pal Jolie, while (right) 20-month-old Greison Courchaine will need a kidney transplant after being diagnosed with stage 3-4 bilateral reflux pyelonephritis (an acute kidney infection) at seven weeks. Supporting Greison in the walk are (from left) Stephanie and Matthew Buhler, dad Kevin, mom Jodi, grandfather Bob Courchaine of Creston and Donna Abney of Yahk.
