Erb thanked for support
A generous donation from Bob Erb this past winter enabled the Greater Terrace Beautification Society to carry out a number of community improvement projects this year.
With Erb’s donation, the group decided to have the four Welcome to Terrace signs improved with a beautiful river rock finish on their bases.
The donation was also used to refinish the sign along Highway 37 at the airport.
The Welcome to Terrace signs were originally a class project for the Leadership BC program, which ran in Terrace in 2008/2009.
The program ended before the bases could be finished.
These improvements have gone a long way towards seeing the signs completed.
Erb’s donation has also let the beautification society, in conjunction with the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine, rejuvenate the northwest corner at the four-way stop in Thornhill.
The steep slope at this location was difficult for the regional district staff and society volunteers to maintain and the existing plants were not thriving at this highly visible intersection.
The beautification society also sponsored the planting of two little leaf linden trees on the 4500 block of Lakelse Avenue, with Skeena National Car Rental sponsoring an additional tree.
Finally, the society also purchased additional lighting to highlight the Grand Trunk Pathway during the winter season.
The beautification society thanked Erb very much for his generosity and faith in his donation, which is benefitting the entire community.
