Online map for flushing
Cloudy, silty water and fluctuating pressure are rites of spring in New Westminster. It’s when the city’s water department flushes water mains.
And now there’s a way for residents to confirm that’s the reason for any anomalies in their tap water with a new online interactive map that is updated daily to show which parts of the city are being flushed. The map can be found by clicking on the Residents tab of the city’s web site, then following the links to What’s Happening and then What’s New.
The flushing began on March 4 and will take approximately 12 weeks to complete.
