Youth group lends a hand to Bread of Life
The Alberni Valley United Youth Group, H2O Helping Hands was formed in September 2012. During the first meeting, the group put together a list of ideas they wanted to accomplish by June 2013.
One of the group’s ideas was to host a spaghetti dinner and raise money for the less fortunate in the Alberni Valley. On March 2, the youth group put their plan to the test and served their first-ever spaghetti fundraiser dinner.
It was great to see how an idea, mixed with a little planning, can make such a difference to a local organization, a group spokesperson said.
By the end of the night the H2O Helping Hand Youth Group raised $524 for The Bread of Life. “It truly is amazing to see what Youth can do with a little support and guidance,” the spokesperson said.
