Ella Huang serves as executive director of Richmond Centre for Disability—and is now an Ethel Tibbits Woman of Distinction.

Huang won in the Community-Professional category at Friday’s awards banquet. She is recognized as a role model who gladly offers her wealth of knowledge and assistance to those seeking help in navigating the social service system. Huang is also known as committed, enthusiastic and professional in her work as a champion for inclusive values in the community.

On Friday she told the crowd that a new life started for her upon arriving in Canada in 1996.

“When I started working at the Richmond Centre for Disability, I realized what this new life had in store for me: a unique, exciting and rewarding Canadian experience.”

Huang thanked her staff and directors at the No. 3 Road charitable service organization, and said it’s a true honour to receive the award.

Also nominated: Angela Soon, Wendy Toyer, Rosalie Walls.
