Nelson youth encouraged to apply for internships in Africa
Youth interested in experiencing some African warmth are invited to apply to the 2013-2014 international youth internship program, sponsored by Victoria International Development Education Association (VIDEA).
Twenty placements are available, each lasting six months. Interns will work on social development initiatives with partner organizations in Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa and Zambia. The work in Zambia will include the further development of the municipal partnership between the City of Nelson and the District of Kaoma, so applicants from the Nelson area are encouraged.
The deadline for applications is 10 p.m. on February 27.
For more information and an application form, go to www.videa.ca or locally contact Isabelle Herzig at isabelleh@kootenaykids.ca or 352-6678 ext 226. These internships are funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
